Retirement savings
Star Fund is the biggest retirement savings fund in Belgium. One part of the portfolio is invested in Belgian shares, the other in bonds and liquid assets.
Star Fund means freedom. As far as payments are concerned, you decide for yourself how much you deposit in your Star Fund.
For 2010, you can save up to € 870.

- Duration : You usually pay into your Star Fund until your 65 th birthday..
- Tax benefits : In tax matters, the Star Fund gives you a lot of profitable options:
| Your payments can be deducted from your income. So you benefit from a tax deduction which can be up to 40% of the premiums paid. You have the right to this reduction up until the year in which you turn 64. |
| The interest is automatically capitalised. |
| On your 60 th birthday you benefit from an advantageous tax scheme. The tax on long-term savings at the moment is just 10% on the amount invested since January 1993, capitalised at a standard interest rate of 4.75%. Beware!
