Francesca Melandri is an italian novelist and screenwriter; she started very young, mostly writing for the cinema and filming documentaries. Her voice is quite unique, thanks also to the mix between the various interests and disciplines she explored throughout her career. Her writing is very humaine, the stories of her characters are often embedded in the story of Italy.
She published her first novel "Eva dorme" (Eva sleeps) in 2010, a powerful portrait of the unjustly overlooked years of terrorism in South Tyrol, an autonomous province in northern Italy.
Then "Più alto del mare" came out in 2012 where you can hear the echoes of 70's Italy from the prison of Asinara.
With'Sangue giusto',2017, nominated for Sterga Prize 2018, the author takes us for a cold shower at the time of the Italian East African colony.
Montecultura is a project by Piolalibri and Banca Monte Paschi Belgio that came together with the purpose of providing, creating and promoting contemporary italian culture through qualitative and taylored meet-the-author events.
Melandri will discuss her works with an italian journalist.
